Buyer Beware! Likely Bore-scored 2009 Cayenne Turbo S for Sale on BAT
#61
This auction, and recent activity on the 996 and other auctions, convinced me to finally request my BaT account be closed.
I'll stick to private party sales with trusted individuals and even dealers over the enthusiast auction sites, all of which add a hefty premium and are now overrun with dealer ads.
This Cayenne was clearly an effortless flip, and I don't think it would have made it to BaT a few years ago.

Massive props to the technician from the Toyota dealership in Tennessee who commented on the auction site for spending his time to let people know about an undisclosed issue with the car. I also like the fact that he admitted that he wasn't an expert on these cars and that he was just relaying the facts as he knew them. I'd let this guy work on my car just based on his one comment.

Im surprised no one else noticed the OBD port nearly ripped out of the dash:
That tells me a few things, someone who is looking into a problem isnt gentle, and probably under qualified. Secondly, if someone who is breaking ****, its because the owner was too cheap to bring it to a real garage to have fixed.
Like others have said, crazy price and the buyer probably has the money to not think or care about anything of these issues. And its not even a manual! Wait do manuals even command a premium here? I always assumed they did.

Well everyone, the infamous bore-scored BAT 2009 Cayenne Turbo S is again for sale and looking for it's next victim! https://express.audifresno.com/expre...ash&delivery=1 All for the lovely low sum of $47,701!
Apparently the BAT buyer realized he had bought a a turd and off loaded it ASAP. Note that the mileage is essentially identical.
Admins, have you given any consideration to having a sticky with VINs to avoid?

It's worth $5,000 for the brakes, wheels, and fender flare kit.

They offer a 7 year Vehicle Service Contract for only $3495.
"Avoid disruptions to your personal budget when an unexpected covered repair occurs."
I wonder if a trashed engine would be considered a covered repair?
Talk them down $10K and buy the service contract. Within a few months you'll have a sweet Turbo S with a brand new engine and no worries for the next 7 years. Yeah right lol!

At the Audi dealership site there is a picture of the dash showing the odometer with 88,483 miles. The BAT listing had a picture with the odometer at 88,396 miles. So whoever bought it on BAT put less than 100 miles on the car.

The manager of the dealership reached out to me about the car. I said the max I would go to is $2000. I told him I know the engine is toast and the Cayenne isn't worth any more than that with a replacement engine being on the order of $35-40K.
We will see if he agrees
