I purchased a set of Benz paddles in attempt to retrofit to my CTT per the couple writeups on the forums. No avail.
There was a good write up from the non Multiwheel from the cayman which had SIMILAR wiring to tap into... although it was mentioned some models needed resistors etc.
The paddles I purchase had two leads from each paddle that were the same color (green) for both wires, not the black and blue/yellow from others shots. Additionally, my wiring harness within the wheel includes black, grey, brown, yellow, white, red. A voltmeter showed 12 VDC on the grey.
I tried using using the attached schematics, thinking that my two green wires of the paddle were a ground, and blue/yellow per the diagram. I attached one green to the black and the other to the white (upshift) and one to black and the other to red for downshift.
Result: nada. Even with reversing the green wires (not knowing which was “black”/ground”.
Anyone have insight on this on the 955 wheel?
TIA.

When you say on the forums, do you mean the Cayenne 2004-2010 forums or others? There are writeups for the 955/957 here in the Cayenne forums. Several members here have done the conversion and I actually have a set of shifters sitting in a box waiting to be installed when I have a moment. When I have a chance, I will try to find the link to the 955/957 writeup if you don't beat me to it.
I’ve searched a decent amount. If you find anything more conclusive please let me know!
As it turns out, the thread that I was thinking of was the Cayenne thread with the Boxter-related DIY at the end. I will dig deeper if I can... Here's the thread https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...-shifters.html
I dont think it is as simple as you are trying to make it. I believe, and I definitely might be wrong, that the shifters in the oem steering wheel talk to the PCB inside the bottom of the steering wheel, which converts the command into a CANBUS command which is then sent to the trans computer. Again, I could be wrong. I went the below route on my CTT 955. If you want to tie in a 2 wire switch, you can attach to exactly where the microswitch is in the steering wheel. If you are replacing the steering wheel you will need to create a pull up/ground bypass circuit. Also know that BOTH sides need to be connected on that PCB.
Those thumb buttons are ridiculous. I guess they work in a straight line when overtaking or something like that but they are completely useless when turning the steering wheel.
