Cayenne Turbo 2005 Rapid Crank, No Start.
Hi,
My Cayenne Turbo 2005 was overheating. Decided to replaced the thermostat, since no visible leaks were observed and also decided to give a proper tune-up
Changed the thermostat, gaskets, some cracked vent lines, all 8 spark plugs with new coils, and the annoying oil level sender...
When everything was set, I tried to fire-up the engine and has a rapid-cranking but won't start. The rev gauge moves to near 800 RPMs but nothing... Check the fuel rail nozzle and had pressurized gas or petrol (whatever want to call it)...
I put the Durametric tool and gave me all the Ignition Coil Codes (P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0356, P0357, and P0358 Ignition Coil No signal/communication). Funny thing is that I clear these codes, the Cayenne starts and runs for 3 to 5 seconds and dies and the 8 faults returns. Reset, dies, faults.
Check all fuses and are alright. Battery was fully charged, drained, and re-charged. Perform the alarm-key close-open for the immobilization thing but nothing.
I checked all connections that I removed and were found connected properly. Disconnected the battery for several minutes and the same: dies and 8 faults.
Ran out of options...
Thanks in advance.

The other thing that could cause misfires on all cylinders and not just one bank is the crankshaft position sensor. We're you near the wires or sensor for that. I don't even know where it is on the Cayenne.

Eilenberger's Law of Troubleshooting: "Look where you last worked"... IMHO - something's up with the ignition system. Right coils? Right plugs? As for why it starts for 5 seconds then shuts off - the ECU shuts off fuel to any misfiring cylinder to keep from flooding the cylinder.

Yeah. And if you bought 20 then you would have 20 bad coil packs.
