I think that's WAY high. I paid $1100 and when they figured out how much work was invovled the dealer clearly realized even that wa a bit much. parts should be no more than 4-500 even at P prices and 3-4 hour labor tops! MAke sure they include reciever and wiring gear as the standard P parts list has them all seperate.

Porsche dealer quote in the DC area is $1700, so by that standard the $1500 quote is a good price. It definitely pays to get this as a factory installed option if at all possible!

BTDT - $1500 is a good price for the factory kit - INSTALLED! Make sure you get all the parts coming to you.

My dealer was trying to convince me to take a car with the hitch. I told him I had heard a hitch can reduce the resale of a car do to potential stress on the drivetrain.
He said the factory option was $500 versus the dealer installation at $1800.
If that is the norm, $1500 is not so bad.

parts are about 900 dollars. the rest is labor. the job is very labor intestive because of the computer module that needs to be installed. much of the interior needs to be removed to wire it.
4-5 hours labor is way low, swede. it is more like 15.

I dont think you should get it installed in a porsche dealership their labor charges are ridiculous. Have it installed some other place and you will save around 300 bucks

David you are correct.. A local guy had his removed and another guy paid the labor to have it removed and installed on his Cayenne.. So no parts were needed. but he paid the 18 hours of labor. To swap them..

I certainly agree that it is a better idea to get it from the factory as an option. I bought mine off the lot as I could not wait 4 months for delivery.
