Default Just ordered my Cayenne S!

After a couple weeks of intensive "Rennlist research" I signed a contract on Saturday with my local Porsche dealer for a 2004 Cayenne S. I ordered Titanium exterior with Black interior and the following options:

Air Suspension
Smooth Leather
PCM/Nav system
Sport Seats w/memory
Bi-Xenon Headlights
Moonroof
Elec Comfort Package
CD Changer
Trailer Hitch (for hauling the 951 track car!)
Front seat heaters & steering wheel heater
18" Turbo Wheels w/ all season tires
Color Crest Wheel Hubs
Collapsible Spare

We also opted for European Delivery, planning to pick the car up in Leipzig in late June and spending a couple weeks touring Germany and Switzerland!

Thanks to all the Cayenne forum regulars for the wealth of info I was able to mine to help in making the decision!

Congrats on the order!! I am jealous..

My wife and I both would like one, but financial planning has us on hold for about a year...

Anyone want to buy out our lease on a 2002 Volvo S-60?

Nice option list (Have you thought about the Park Distance Control?)
June is a nice time to visit Europe.

Matt C:

Yes, I considered the Parking Assistance but decided to pass on it for the additional $990. I'm usually able to judge the parking distances very well, but it will be different with a vehicle this big, I'm sure.

My wife has some family living in Luzerne, wo we'll be driving through that area for a visit! I wanted to try for a slightly earlier delivery, but she told me it would be too cold up in the mountains until later in June!

Just a thought. When ordering the Electric comfort package with sport or comfort seats (PD4) and you want the SPORT seats, be sure that the dealer has the Sport seats with memory option (PE3). My dealer messed this up on my ordered TT. What happened was that he order the Convenience package (P87, electric comfort plus moonroof), and the computer kicked the PD4 option out. He then didn't follow-up on it

Then again, he made up for it by giving me a set of Blizzak LM-22 @ cost.

Excellent - she's absolutly right about the weather. In addition, the passes usually aren't opened until end of May. So if you're planning to cross the Alps, end of June is just perfect.

Matt C:

Yes, we're thinking of crossing the Alps and visiting the Italian part of Switzerland -- details to be worked out later. My wife has a brother living in Luzern who races motorcycles, and we will also be able to see him in some races scheduled for the end of June.

Alin2:

Thanks for the advice. We do have the PES Sport Seats spec'd with the PD4 Elec Comfort Package. My salesman is very knowledgeable, but one of the other local dealers who sent me an "internet" quote told me I couldn't get Sport Seats and Elec Comfort package together. All he did was use the "car configurator" feature on the Porsche website and messed it up, getting an error that kicked out the selections as "conflicting." I was very happy that the most knowledgeable salesman also gave me the best price! I got almost $6500 off the list price for the car, which I thought was pretty good for a factory order.

I'm glad your salesman was able not to mess up the PD4 and PE3 combo. I have to say that the sport seats are much nicer for spirited driving. I was so used to the heavy bolstered seats on my M5, I thought I was sliding around on the comfort seats.

When you get the car, be sure to check to self latching rear hatch VERY carefully. My C-S required a really heavy slam of the rear hatch for the mechanism to close it. In the cold, it would often require 3-4 tries before closing...so much for the "comfort" aspects!

My new TT however works like a dream. All you have to do is lightly close the hatch and it pulls the hatch in.

$6500! Awesome! That's a great deal on an ordered vehicle as special as the pepper.
