Arrow new Cayenne Tequipment accessory....

For those with the trailer hitch, I saw 2 trailer hitch receiver covers at my dealer's parts department last week.
One was black rubber with a raised Porsche crest, the other was a pewter look aluminum with colored Porsche crest.
Much nicer than the flat faced black cover you get from the factory....one with the crest should have been included IMHO; I went with the black rubber one.

Also discovered that my Cayenne went thru PDI without the dealer installing the 7pin plug! Quickly resolved during the Cardan shaft replacement and now the Cayenne is ready to assume it's duty as the official tow vehicle for my son's go kart (10' aluminum enclosed trailer)

I don't know who's luckier, the go cart being towed by your Cayenne or your son for you being such a great dad!

Are you using an electric brake module?

JFScheck,
Thank you for the compliment.

My son just turned 12, has been racing 4 cycle karts indoors for about 3 months and is going to be racing 80cc 2 stroke karts outdoors this summer. He is a good kid, polite and gets good grades, so I don't mind doing it for him and consider myself the lucky one.

No need for a brake controller, as the trailer is a 6.5' x 10', single axle, enclosed, all aluminum:
http://cargoprotrailers.com/html/cargo.html
(I have to order the trailer this week. It will be painted a standard/available color which almost matches the Titanium Metallic on the CayenneS, so it should look pretty good behind the S.

It weighs approx 1000lbs empty; no problem for the Cayenne or the stock brakes (according to the Cayenne owner's manual), so no need for a brake controller. On such a light single axle trailer, a brake controller would be more trouble than it's worth trying to keep the brakes from locking up.

Toby,
I will call my dealer's parts guy tomorrow and then post them.
I couldn't find them on the 'net via Google, so they must be very new items. Don't know if they are in the latest Cayenne Tequipment/Selection catalog or not.

Toby,
$13 for black rubber w/ raised crest
$43 for aluminum with painted/raised crest.

Email Mark (my local Porsche dealer parts manager)
mwyzansky@unitedauto.com
for more details or purchasing/shipping information.
He has both in stock.

Hmm, isn't this what a trailer hitch should look like when it's not used:

Sorry, couldn't resist.
(On European models you can remove it completely!)
