Default TPM has disappeared

I have the Tire Pressure Monitoring system on my car. But, suddenly, the option disappeared from my display. When I click Main Menu, the Tyre option is no longer there.

My dealer is looking into it. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks,

I have heard of this before, I seem to recall the control unit was reset or replaced to fix it.

Default Tpm

Some of you alllready know i own a touareg and they have the same problems.I had to have my module replaced. The thing with the tpm on the computer dash though. When mine dissappeared i went into the fuse box and pulled the fuse out then i cranked the car up.The computer reconized it and made a slash through the tire sensor to let me know the fuse is out.I then turned the car back off replaced the fuse then cranked the car back up and the TPM came back up on the screen. It is like rebooting the system in a sorts.Mabey the Cayenne works in a similar way. Here is what is on the Touareg forum.I dont know if this will help but you never know.Later

John,

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. After two trips to the dealer, they reportedly removed the dash and replaced the display module or ???. All is well now.

Good luck!

Devoman,

Thanks for the tip. I'll discuss it with my dealer. If he agrees, I'll try it.

It should work. I read recently that the Touareg and Cayenne have identical electrical systems.

'Tis true. VW & Porsche share many of the same parts/ECMs/Wiring.

Well, it took me a while to get around to it, but it worked.

If it happens to you, remove the cover from the driver's side fuse box, pull the 5 amp fuse #24, start the car, shut off the car, replace the fuse, restart and voila, the TPM is back.

Thanks to all for the help. It was a lot quicker than taking Black Beauty back to the dealer.
