Back up camera
I own a 2006 porsche cayenne s and was wondering if a back up camera can be installed into the factory pcm system. I have looked at the android replacements but was wondering if a camera can be added to the factory unit which works just fine.

Yes. Provided your PCM has the video input jack on the rear. If not - it can still be done but at greater expense (involving adding a video to MOST bus adaptor.)
I'd suggest visiting the DIY forum for: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...up-camera.html
That will get you all the info on running the wiring from the back end to the front - then you'll need a RCA to FAKRA adaptor (Amazon) for connecting the RCA cable to the video input on the PCM.. and you may need the video input turned on (not sure if that can be done with a Durametric or iCarScan - a dealer can do it with a PIWIS.)

This thread is particularly applicable: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...-camera-5.html
And this posting - very useful since it should be the same PCM model as you have: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...l#post10811381
Good luck! Let us know how it works out for you!
