What to do with used rotors?
#16
Porsche does not turn rotors under any circumstances. IMHO the small lip on the edge is not an issue, it is a normal part of wear. The new pads will fit into the exact same space (meaning they don't reach all the way to the edge of the rotor, hence the lip). In my experience you can usually get about 2 to 2 1/2 sets of pads for every set of rotors. These things are beefy as hell and it takes a lot before you can wear them down to being a problem.

Remove any rust, put a coat of oil to prevent further rust, put a round glass table top, attach it all to a stand and you have nice side tables to go along with your engine block table.
Thinking about it further.. I wonder if you could turn them into fans. Its crazy but it might just work...

I've seen them done as wall clocks too. Or cut along the quarter and used as bookends. Suncoast will sell you one for $215. ONE.
Either way you'd better make sure it's a damn strong screw holding it onto the wall...

Metal musical instrument lacquer would help avoid rusting. I used some on a copper mailbox and it's still looking great a decade later. Key is good surface prep. Acetone to remove all contaminants. Some Evapo-Rust would probably clean up most surface rust. Otherwise get it media blasted and then turned again to make it look pretty. Hit it with a couple of coats of lacquer and it'll stay that way. Make one a clock and then have the other one cut into quarters for bookends.
