My 2009 cayenne has 125000. thing i get tired of buying is the tires!!!!

2008 Cayenne S with 152k miles. Currently ignoring a stuck thermostat based on the "inefficient cooling" error code on my durametric.

The only odd thing is that my temp gauge rose beyond midpoint while driving in the city a few times. To be exact, it was long highway driving followed by very slow rush hour traffic in city. That happened about 3 or 4 times last year. Since then, I haven't been able to recreate even under similiar driving patterns. Smh.

Coolant flush
oil change every 5-8k
Drive shaft at 115k
Spark plugs at 75k
lots of tires
brakes replaced, but original rotors
OEM Battery lasted 7 years
Autozone batteries last 3 years.

Need to get done over the next year or two:
ATF, differential, transfer case flush
Thermostat, water pump
brakes rotors
spark plugs maybe ignition coil

Quest: Does anyone go OEM on any of the cooling parts such as the water pump or thermostat?

Just bought oem thermostat, socket and gasket.

It's really not that bad a job. You can bang it out on a Saturday.

Took me 2hrs and I had a few issues getting the old socket out and the new one in. Ended up breaking the old insert with hammer and screwdriver to get it out.

Plastic plenum off, belt off, water pump pulley off, water pump off slowly letting coolant run down front to trough, insert broken, sand paper clean up, thermostat out. Assemble in reverse, new water pump gasket, lubricant o-rings with coolant, top up coolant with 3litres, let idle and when thermostat opens coolant level drops so be ready with another 2.5 litres. Did a leak test. Wash down front of motor. Had to use pry bar and flat metal plate to get insert in past final o-ring.
