Good wheel cleaner
I see pics in this forum and some members' GTS wheels seem as if they are still new looking. My GTS wheels look good but they do not have the "like new" silver color to them. They don't have that bright silver finish to anymore. What does everyone use to clean their wheels? Thanks!

Chances are very high that the paint on your rims has dulled due to the use of powerful wheel cleaners. Every spring, when re-installing my summers, I apply a fresh coat of car wax and hand buff to a shine.

Since wheels are painted or powder coated, you can treat the surface like paint on the body. Polishing compound can remove the top yellowed layer if cleaners don't remove it. Once you have removed the yellowing you can use various protectants on the wheel paint to keep them from staining so easily.

I've used Sonax for years now and it's one of the best wheel cleaners for daily cars, but I only use it as a 1st step cleaner to get all the brake dust and grime off, 2nd step is always a soapy cleaners that will get the tires and the remaining dirt off.

I've always used mothers mag aluminum polish. I realize it's clear coat I'm polishing but it does a great job getting the tough to clean spots and bringing out a bright shine. Don't know that it's any better than the other's mentioned though. I'm getting low so I may try Sonax next.
