Default Where might this oil leak be coming from?

04 CTT. Under the car doing the Cardan Shaft fix and had all the undercarriage shields off and noticed a substantial oil leak but I can't find the origin.
I see what might be an oil line but I can't see where it starts or where it ends which would make this much easier to figure out.
Pictures are taken driver side, front looking up.
I noticed the oil leak here leaking oil onto lines below it. I show direction of oil flow in red arrow.

When I follow it up to look for the source it is wrapped in heat shield. I'm not even sure if this line is what is leaking or just carrying the leak down.

I've looked at engine diagrams, oil flow diagrams but can't figure out what hose this is or even if this is the most likely source
Thank you for any help identifying

The direction of flow within the hose is inconsequential, if that is what you were searching for. Three things to help locate the source.

1. Oil will drip down and back (obviously depending on proximity to air flow)
2. Older oil will have more dirt collected, while new drip will be wetter. Your first picture is the latter, and the second picture the former.
3. The best way to find the leak is to thoroughly clean the area with degreaser, the drive it a day or so, and check for the leak again. based on #1, you should be able to locate it. Bear in mind, that oil on the lower portion of a hose does not necessarily mean it is the hose itself, but could be something above it leaking onto the hose.

Good luck

Clean it completely with Purple Power degreaser, leave the belly pans OFF and WATCH where new oil leak emerges....

I have the exact same leak, did you ever figure out what it was?

If it was a BMW - that would be a 100% guess to me.. BMW can't make a hose that doesn't leak. That type of crimped connector high-pressure hose is prone to weeping when the rubber hose ages and shrinks a bit. On BMW's some people cut off the ferrule on the fitting and replaced it with multiple hose clamps that could be tightened enough to stop the leaking.

When I looked at the pics - power steering hoses were the first thing that came into mind..

Just to clarify, you think its the power steering pump or steering rack leaking PS oil?

Isn't this just the hoses from the turbo on the drivers side that's notorious for collecting oil? This is the side that's notable to leak, right? Had the same leaks on both my cars.

Clean the area, drain the hose of oil, replace the o-rings and should be fine.

Are you referring to the hose between the turbo and the intercooler?
