Default added to the Cayenne fleet

SEA BEEF 2.0 has arrived. More info in the 958 sub-forum. I honestly hope the new one grows on me because I have really loved the 955 and I think a low-mileage 957 with the same options would be a good fit. The fancy new interior is too good to pass up, as are the few design changes that improve reliability. Will miss low range. I don't think the 958 looks better on the outside than the 957, but it is a big improvement over the 955. The interior is crazy nice.

If no one buys the 955, I'm considering doing a Tyler Shotsfall (look him up on instagram for his 2004 CTT build) style build with a body lift and huge wheels/tires plus a cage. Would need to find a locking diff or just weld the rear diff.

I have a 2005 CTTS that looks just like yours but didn't have the courage to go all the way to the 958 (comfortable with the controls, dynamics, etc) so I went to the 957 GTS for fun.
Good looking 958!

Neat pic of the cayenne towing a cayenne!

I'd be interested whether you actually miss the low range box as you drive the newer one on your adventures... I'll bet you won't!

clearly you haven't seen my spectro racing video of me at the off-road park! I actually use the low range all the time- at the beach, muddy trails, and most often when I'm backing up a trailer. It helps so much to not have to use the gas at all and just modulate the brake instead, even up a small curb or in soft sand/dirt.

Looks like you missed the point of what I wrote; I did not say you haven't used it in the past. Oh well, carry on...

Great pic of the towing. I looked up your off road video. Here it is for anyone else. Pretty cool. I never would have thought a truck as heavy as these could hang with the Jeeps.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend! So what you meant is that you think the new 8 speed auto works well enough on the trails even without the low range? I certainly hope it does! It's great now that I have a locking rear diff with PTV plus; I hope the torque converter locks up smoothly enough in first so that I can apply throttle smoothly and steadily. That's what was so great about the low range in the 955; tons of slow, steady torque even at idle.

Yes! I've off-roaded both the 957 and 958 and personally haven't missed the 957's low range, so I'm interested to hear of your experiences/impressions once you try your 958 off-road. Many people claim the Cayenne loses something off-road without the low range, but they have not had experience with both models, so I'm curious what you think! Thanks!
