Default cam holding tool

Hi
i need to remove a cam cover from my 1998 boxster, does anyone have the dimensions, hole centres or pictures to enable me to make one and what size is the thread that secures the tool to the head (ie M6 or M8) ?

also when replacing the camshaft end plugs (metal core plugs?) with the threaded hex type, what size does the thread need to be (M15 etc) ?
many thanks

try this link, has dimension on end - I would not replace the cam end plugs, the OEM work fine, never a problem.

Hi
Unfortunately one has blown out so I don't have any choice!
The car was taken into a garage when the green plug fell out leaving oil on the road. The garage set about replacing the green plug and reselling the cam cover, next thing they say its the metal core plug in the cam end that has come out and they don't have the tools to remove the cam and repair it!
Thanks

We can repair that camshaft.. This occurs when someone uses too much sealant on the cam covers.

Hi
If someone resealed the cam cover and used too much silicone, would it blow the plug straight out or would it take many miles?
Also is it caused by blocking the oil ways with excess silicone ?
Many thanks
