Default Boxster Spec exhaust options?

Posted this in the "racing section" too but thought I might get some feedback here too... Anyone have any experience with this system?

A fair number (at least 6 or more) of the Texas SPB guys use this exhaust. I believe that peak hp numbers are similar to other exhausts that guys have had made for their cars but the PCW exhaust makes a few more ponies mid-range. They are beautifuly made and I'd put one on my SPB in a heartbeat if I had the dinero.

Yes, I know that I am reviving an old post, but I could not resist my interest.

Would a SPB exhaust fit on a 3.2L S Boxster of the same year model?

Nope, the flange and transmission mount are different. You would have to back-date the headers and make a different mount/hanger.

But I will say I get a lot of positive comments on the sound the car makes with this exhaust!

Can you just bolt this up to a 2.7 or does it require a tune with the reduced backpressure? I'm pretty sure spec doesn't allow tunes so it should be ok right? I need a louder loud pedal

Wink

My company Fabspeed Motorsport USA manufactures complete Boxster spec race exhaust systems for all early 1997 to 1999 cars, 2000 to 2004 cars.
Fabspeed also manufacturers dyno proven systems for 987 1st generation and 987.2 2nd gen vehicles.
We have even completed design engineering and sound quality development on the new 2013 Porsche 981 platform . The new car is still at our new 25000 sqft facility in Fort Washington PA.

Feel free to cruise by and we will show you street quiet systems to all out Race systems for any year boxster cayman vehicle.

Fabspeed Motorsport USA is the ITC spec exhaust for the Cayman inter series race championship.

FYI a balance pipe of h pipe on the back of any boxster cayman exhaust is worth 5hp and valuable torque while smoothing out the exhaust sound.

Kent may be able to make one to suit your 2.7 but the SpecBox one would be built to suit the 2.5 and they run different headers and have a different flange to attach to at the the end of the headers.

You would also have an issue with legality if you are talking street car to say nothing of these being hell loud. Imagine straight pipes (which is pretty much what they amount to).

On a 2.5 no tune is required.

Ny Fabspeed systems have machined flanges that allow our systems to fit any and all Boxsters from 1997 to 2004 cars. Just specify year. Yes cars with Racing type exhaust systems are very aggressive and loud. Music to some people on the street and too loud to others.

A ECU tune will maximize horse power and torque and or if NO tuning is allowed the ECU will automatically compensate.

Thanks for the replies. As for the legality, I'm hoping to get back to South Carolina one of these days...
