My New 2012 Boxster Spyder - Guards Red
#31
Thanks for the rapid reply. As it turns out, I was staring at an unsold Spyder. It was PDK and I'm absolutely committed to Guards Red and this model was Basalt Black. It was not even considered, I just wanted to lay eyes on it.
I've always thought that a 911 was my dream and I thought for sure I'd focus on a 997 MKII (pre owned). Then I read about this one with all the 911 snobbery going full bore....and then I start thinking, I don't care about the badge and the snide remarks from my co-workers about the stereotypes of the boxster! This is way better looking than any 997 IMHO and I'm confident I'll be too busy trying not to smile about driving this thing. I'm sold.

And seriously, if you care about stereotype, you won't enjoy buying a car based on that, just test drive the cars that you liked and judge on buying the care based on that.

Balakris: Congratulations on your new Spyder! Could you confirm if indeed your MSRP window sticker says MY2012 rather than MY2011? What is exact month of production as found in door VIN sticker? Was the base price (sans options) $61800? I am just trying to establish what date MY2012 production started. I have a late June Spyder scheduled to be built. Thank You. Regards, z356

Very nice Spyder, I'm loving the red. I'm also a former S2000 owner and will have my Spyder delivered in September. I was wondering how the wind/engine noise in the S2000 compares to the Spyder with the top up? I remember my (stock) S2000 was noisy as hell at 80mph and was hard to have a decent conversation with my passenger.

Well, found a dealer with allocation on changeable MY2012 Spyder! That was not an easy one to find. Just sent configuration to the dealer and Computers show Sep delivery. On my way! Thanks all for tips and advice.
