Default New Wheels

I finally caved in to peer pressure and bought a 2nd set of wheels (OZ Alleggerita HLT) to mount some r-comps to for autocross. My only requirement was that they be LIGHT- and these are, at 17 & 18lbs apiece for 8x18 & 9x18" respectively- but I really like the way they look. I might have to rethink which are my track wheels and which are for daily driving now It's hard to tell from the photo, but that's virgin Kumho V710 rubber on there, too.

Awesome, how much did they cost and what offsets did you get? Any fitment issues?

No fitament issues, though there's only a few mm clearance on the front wheels at full steering lock. I'm not using any spacers, but wider rubber would probably need one. (04 986S)

O.Z. Alleggerita HLT:
18x8+57mm, 17.4lbs. (+5mm from OEM.)
18x9+43mm, 18.8lbs. (-9mm from OEM, but only -4mm from 10" and 30mm narrower)

Tirerack has them listed at ~$360 ea.

Kumho V710 Tires:
245/35R18: 315mm rounded, 8-9.5"
285/30R18: 315mm rounded, 9.5-10.5"

I've been considering these for a while.

Unfortunately they don't come in the appropriate sizes for stock class (18x7.5, 18x10 for an 18", or 17x7, 17x8.5 for a 17") - or at least didn't last time I checked.

They do look good. I will have to consider them for my car if they come in my size

They're 987 OEM size. According to my (986) owner's manual, they're an available option for the 04 986S, and near as I can tell, they're a factory option. Not sure I'd be able to back it up with hard documentation if I were to be protested, but sure enough that my conscience is clear. And there will be no question whatsoever when I trade up to an '09 in two years and transfer the wheels to the 987.
