OK, I did EVO;Headers;exhaust(Fabspeed);RoW M030 suspension; modified street/track setup (..alignment); ~ $800 Stereo upgrade. I'd rank them:

1) RoW M030 - hands down the best money I spent by FAR.

2) Street/track setup (more neg camber all around and less toe up front) - goes along with the RoW M030, but stock suspension could have benefited from this as well.

3) EVO intake - GOD that engine sounds sweet with this puppy on there. It was worth the money for that alone.

4) Stereo upgrade (New HU/amp/drivers/small sub) - This probably should have been rated higer on the list, but I'm an old gearhead - what can I say.......

5) Headers

6) Exhaust

If I had it all to do over, I wouldn't even bother with the exhaust, although the headers seemed to have opened it up a bit above 4k rpm. In fairness, I have not had the cash to have the ECU remapped yet, and that may change my mind about the exhaust comment when I get it done....we'll see.

Mostly from Suncoast. That's where I got the EVO, B&M Short Throw Shifter, and the Row M030 parts

Link is :

Got the headers from Top Speed Pro Performance. Link below.

Sound system stuff came from either http://www.Crutchfield.com or http://www.woofersetc.com/

Unfortunately you will find that Porsche performance parts are not exactly inexpensive.

Just a note of caution on the intake, read up on intakes and CEL problems.

Not everyone has had problems, but some people who over-oiled the intake element ran into problems.

De-snorkeling is another route. Free.... and almost as good.

I'd love to give you a rundown on what I did and the $$, but I don't have all the figures in hand. I would agree on the suspension... I put Row M30 on a '95 993 and loved the difference. Right now I'm running on H&R lowering springs which are sweet for the investment. Coil overs would be my next step. I also did a B&M short shift, Porsche sport exhaust, GT3 seats, Porsche Tequipment front bumper and side skirts, extensive repainting on the interior and some other minor adjustments. The best advise... drive it every day with the top down @ only $2.69/gallon!!!

One other thing Mima.....I don't know if you plan on tracking the car, or driving at very high speed anywhere (like the Autobahn or abandoned airport runways,) but if you do, you might want to do some reading before you change the aerodynamics (i.e...spoiler) package too much. You could upset the balance of the car at very high speeds for one thing, and there are reports I have seen that some of the aftermarket rear pieces do not hold up.

Of course if you don't plan to track it, or hang it all out on some airport runway that isn't busy, then it really isn't much of a concern. Nobody drives 150 on the highway in the States, right? Its just for looks.

What does this mean, exactly?

I would tackle suspension.. lowering springs/shocks, maybe swaybars too. Then I'd learn to drive better.. and then better still
