Default 986 Fuel tank question

The last two times I've filled up, gasoline pours out of the tank even though there is less than a gallon of remaining fuel. I have to try 5-6 times moving the fuel nozzle in and out with a bunch of fuel overflow til I can get things flowing properly and then have no further problems filling the tank.

Has anyone experience this and if so can you guide me as to what to do? TIA

Default Fuel Tank

I had this happen on my Maxima last year. It's the sensor in the fuel filler tube. Basically it senses when the tank is close to full and shuts off the nozzle. You might be able to "slowly" fill it up but will need to have changed. Don't remeber the cost but probably under $100.

good thing it does not overflow onto hot rotors...oh wait it does. Sorry no help from me I have never had that issue and I seem to burn fuel at an alarming rate
