i have them. not bad, really. they are VERY harsh on the street, but i bought them more for the track than to improve the street performance.

if you just want a sportier drive, go for the M030. there really is no better compromise between ride quality & performance IMO. if instead you are looking for a budget track set-up, the ksport is a reasonable option. on my car, they've been good for about 1.5s / lap on a 1.5 mile road course.

i have a LONG post here about them:

and a more technical post here w/ shock dynos, calculations, etc:

one more note: a primary reason mine are so harsh on the street has to do w/ the spring rates i chose. if you went a tad softer, they might be more comfortable.

SOME versions of KSport are sleeved & can be adjusted for height without compressing travel. this is NOT the case for their porsche applications. ride height is adjusted by moving the perch up and down the shock body.

if you are going street w/ no track, you only have two real choices IMO: M030 or PSS9. the KSports are WAY overdamped & oversprung for street use (unless you're crazy, like me, and don't care!).

w/ suspension mods, i like the 'woman' test. would a woman ride in the car this way? with the KSports, most girls will NOT ride in the car.

PSS9 hands down; there really is not one single other viable coilover option for a street car IMO. they'll get you to GT3 height.

Are they that good? How do the H&Rs compare?

only in context. the OP wants to know about coilovers STRICTLY for street use. in this case, the PSS9's have the best ride quality by FAR. the H&R's are much stiffer.
