Ir Bag Light is on 97 Boxster
I am helping a friend with his early 97 Boxster and he has the airbag light on.
We replaced the drivers belt receiver and cleaned all the electrical contacts there.
Also plugged in a scan tool and no faults came up.
Not sure what to test for next...Suggestions.
Dealer wanted 1000 bucks to look at it.
Thanks

If you have repaired all the faults, you still need the dealer, or someone with a PSTII, or Duramertic scanner to reset the light. It will not clear by itself and normal scanner/readers can't clear it either.
Here is more info that may be of some help. It may be dated, and dealer "Good Will" may no longer apply.

$1000 to look at it is outrageous. My dealership charged me $75 to reset the light after I replaced both recepticles and seatbelts after the airbag deployment. For that price you may as well buy durametric software $220 as far as I remember n you can do much more that just reset lights. Kinda fun to hook your car to a laptop too
