Default Trailer hitch for a 987

Anyone know where I can pick up a hitch for a 987?

Try www.willwoodsystem.com.
He makes one that also hides behind the license plate. I've been toying with the idea of getting one for my 986. Please let us know what you go with.

Willwood's set up is $470.00 for the standard hitch and $660 for the hidden set up....plus 3hrs labor!! Not so easy to do as the 986 I guess!!

I love mine. Its incredibly well engineered except for the way to hold up the license plate (this is pretty minor.)

There's nothing that you can't do yourself. I did mine for my '08 Boxster. I took 3 evenings to do it in my garage (I work really slowly when I am doing something new)

Evening #1 I did a lot of surveying. Removed the bumper cover and the bumper
Evening #2 I installed the heavy duty bumper supports and drilled the bumper, Installed the receiver, reinstalled the bumper
Evening #3 I got a wiring harness, installed it, routed it through the license plate light grommet, cut the bumper cover behind the license plate and reinstalled the bumper cover.

The great thing about this hitch is that absolutely everything is hidden unless you pull the license plate up.

Total price including shipping from west coast to mid-atlantic was $700. I recommend it. Will is good people.

Here's a shot of one. Will have to ask our PCA member where he went for it. Fully hidden behind the plate when not in use.

I just used my WillWood hidden hitch for the first time on Sunday. Drove about 75 miles to an Autox event [and 75 back home] Everything went fine.

What are you pulling with it? Tools or complete set of tires? Curious to know what trailer you've got.

Its a Harbor Freight utility 48" trailer loaded with 4 18" wheels and tires, a large plastic box loaded with aluminium jack, air tank, spare for trailer and impact gun. I figure it weighs about 300 lbs loaded.
