As far as I'm concerned, 986 and 987 are as different as night and day. Same thing with 996 and 997. I say put Caymans in with 987 and change the Boxster/S forum to 986. It wouldn't bother me if they were all merged but I'm not sure it will increase activity.

I don't know why there isn't more activity. I suspect a lot of Boxster owners may be intimidated by the "chick car" and "Gayman" bashing. The bashers don't have a clue anyway.

I am disappointed to see the third option in the survey. All it does is help perpetuate the stereotype. If we didn't care about Boxsters and Caymans we wouldn't have bought them to begin with. Ray, I know your just making a parody of the stereotype but there are people out there who surely believe these cars are not real Porsches. In my book, they're not welcome if they snipe around here and act like jerks.

I vote for a merge. I know I get confused as to which forum to post to for my '05 Boxster S. I guess it's a 987, but .... it's also a Boxster S. ??

Anyway, I don't give a hoot what the bashers say. All of these cars are REAL Porsches. Those that think other wise are just ill informed posers.

yeah, look at the 2008 parade results, the Boxster's beat the 911's

and the woman's class was won by a 968.
how do I know, I own both the 2004 550s and the 968.

thanks Rob.

tino,

my time in the 550 was the second fastest time behind Bobby Smith' s race 914, it was faster than all the rest. I own the 550 and a 968 that I let my freinds Paul Kozlak and Lynn Rothney-Kozlak drive. they 993 broke the transmission the week before at the Prosolo in DC.

thanks Rob Falkner
