and a $&*( economy - What you guys think the price point would be?
Mileage is probably close to 70k now.
And if the engine takes a dump, how much would a replacement cost today?
TIA

you can buy a used engine all day long at $3500 without looking much. I new engine from Porsche is $9000 IIRC. I bought a used long block for $1250

Yes. There is no guarantee that Porsche has addressed this issue or made any changes to fix it. Besides having Jake Raby build you a new motor that is better than the replacement/reman motor from Porsche, you are better off getting a used motor. This is for my street car so I'm just putting in a used motor and I'll run it until it breaks.

I bought two salvage cars last month and they were both under $7000. Try and sell it for $8000, salvage title kills you.

If your motor blows, rebuild it right - www.flat6innovations.com
I would not pay $10k for a salvaged titled Boxster unless I could pretty much write off that money. But that doesn't mean it's a bad car. Key here is a thorough PPI.

Sounds like an ok car to own, just be aware of what a salvaged title means if you have to sell it. I'd say you'll have a tough time unloading that at any price. But if you like the car and will keep it for a while, go for it. I would still say "comfortably under $10k" on the price. But that's just my opin.
Good luck!
