Does anyone know if there was a difference between the engine tuning on the US engines and the ROW engines? I keep seeing the HP listed as 252 for 2001 BoxsterS and I was wondering if it was listed as the same overseas.

..don't think ther were ROW engine specs. S cars had 252 then 260, 266 for Anniversary Editions then 280 for the 987.

The power outputs are the same for US and ROW Boxster motors

They are the same spec. The way HP is calculated is different for North America and EU.

You can ask your dealer to change the country code in the ecu to C00 from C02.

Also the emmissions requirements for ROW are not as stringent and contribute to a slightly better performing engine.

Dennis, if I'm not mistaken the HP for the "S' went from 250, 252, 258(2003), 260 then to the 987 280 and so on.

Should be listed in your owner's manual. 00-02 is 250 hp. 03-04 is 258 hp.

It's 250 in my manual.
