Default Anyone Running a Cold Air Intake?

I wanted to know peoples feedback and opinions of running a Cold Air Intake on their Boxster S. I just got my wife a nice used one and thought I would hop it up I am thinking about buying this for the car along with a exhaust and ecu flash.

You can start by de-snorkling the car. Then I added a CAI, which I would highly recommend.
Other items to consider, replacing the ambers side lights, amber tail lights and having the center consol painted - I used bumperplugs.com for that, it's the one item most people comment on even though I have a full leather car with a bunch 'o options.

I have a cold air intake on my 2000 S and love it. But you'll need to try to seal it against the top cover. Mine has about a 1 inch gap around the top, so it isn't getting completely cold air.

The sound is incredible though.

Define CAI. Not sure what you mean.

CAI = Cold Air Intake and I would agree my intake is not sealed from the engine and therefore there is some hot/warm air coming in. The sound is incredable!

I have one on my 3.4 - it sounds great, but I'm not sure that there's much quantfiable power gain

Oh contare, I had the '00 Boxster S dyno'd after the CAI and de-snorkel and while I did not have a before reading there seemed to be a handful, maybe 6, more hp's as compared to other non-mod'd S's.

What CAI are you using? If it is not 100% sealing, have you tried to do something so it seals?

I'm running the Evom CAI and I love that thing. I felt better throttle response which generally translates to more HP on a dyno. However the problem with a CAI is that it never really shows up on a dyno because the car is moving and the large dyno fans never really replicate that all that well. If nothing else the sounds it gives is pure magic.
