On the positive side the owner maybe happy. Assuming he has insurance he's going to get a brand new car.

Tool Pants,

How do you know it's a Boxster? I could be a 996 right.

Both pictures are of a Boxster - after almost 4 years of this stuff I know the difference. My last pic on this topic as it bothers me if I know people have been seriously hurt.

This is a 996.

Sad,
But I've seen this happen. I know a great man who breathed his last in a Boxster about six months ago. Had it not been for a 1980 something Ford F150 running over the car, he would have made it. It is amazing what the Boxster can stand up to, even with nothing to dampen the impact up front.

My girlfriend also taco-ed her 1998 Boxster. It looked like a bent accordian. She got out and started screaming after her 80 MPH impact with a tree and a 100 FT long spinout that landed the back end into a telephone pole. Not a single cut or scrape.

I am SOOOO glad for her sake that her 2001 had traction control!!!

Be safe, guys.

Tool Pants...
where did you find that poto of the bent up chassis?
Is it someone you know?
It looks frighteningly familiar... possibly like a black 2001 Boxster that saw its last in Redding, CT, the same car I alluded to in my previous post.

Tool Pants,

Those first 2 pics can't be of the same car. The first one is silver and the second looks to be black or maybe one of the dark blue colors.

I'm not aware of any half and half Boxsters rolling off the assembly line.

I'm not surprised how well the boxster holds up in impact, look at the size of the tree and that car came away pretty good.
