Raisng the rear spoiler while stopped
I have noticed some folks have put Boxster S logos on the back of the spoiler so that it can be seen while its up - but how does one put it up when it not moving? Is there a switch or trick?

Yep, he's right.
Kind of silly, however. Below 55 mph, it does more damage than good. It creates too much drag, which cancels out the traction/handling effect it is suppossed to create for high-speed driving.
Maybe he's using it for a bullet-proof sheild...like on James Bond's DB7 in the 60's.
Speaking of which, any one for a James Bond Porsche????
Porsche: there is no substitute.

I didn't mean I would drive with it up - I actually would prefer it not to come up until even later. I was just curious if one was to buy one of these decals that say "Boxster S" and put it on the spoiler, how does one get the thing up (which I now know, thanks)
I think the car's lines are very nice without the spoiler and I thank Porsche's engineers for coming up with a WAYYYYY better solution that Audi did for the TT (a permanent little spoiler that ruins the car's looks while stationary)

Craigg,
That spoiler is necessary though over 140 mph to help keep the back end down. Besides the only people who ever see it are cars behind you, you can't see it out the review mirror or anything. So that just means that testy 944/951 owners are the only ones you have to worry about seeing your spoiler...

Got to agree with Ken on this one...
The spoiler is so subtle that most don't even notice it, but it does serve a very good function, even way under 140 mph. It goes up at 65 mph (or is it 75?) and goes back down at 55 mph. The erection of the spoiler varies with speed over those bsic numbers and, even if it is hard to feel, it does do a world a difference while blowing the doors oof of unsuspecting racers (or ricers, I should say).

It was a DB5. The latest JB film has the villain using a bullet-proof screen on his green XKR.

Oops, How could I have missed that? I have the damn DB James Bond model sitting on my desk! Thanks for the catch.
But c'mon, when the Carrera GT hits showrooms....
There will be no better choice for a Bond car!
