Nice seats, I've been thinking about putting GT3 seats in mine. I think I might have to now.

How do you like the seats? Are they comfortable for street driving? I'm thinking of picking up a pair for my Boxster also (mainly for the track, but I'd probably keep them in year-round).

Very nice. Will you be keeping the old seats. I could use them. Not sure I personally would replace the rim. I like them just fine.

The seats are fantastic. Personally I think its the seat that should come stock from Porsche but you know about DOT rules requiring seats to recline bla bla bla rules bla bla.
These Recaro's force you to maintain good posture so your back will thank you for it. For daily driving so far no problem actually its more comfortable in my opinion, but getting out takes an extra three seconds and you have to lift yourself out. I'm considering fab'ing up some extra cushioning on the sides because I'm a bit small for this seat around the hips and waist. So far its the best thing I've done to maximize the driving experience.
But the old seats are going back in when I part with the car so I guess the next owner will be getting some practically new seats with this Boxster.

oh and these are the new wheels. The old ones are in the picture on the top.
The wheels look very different in picutures as opposed to in person. In person they look 19" and give the car a wider beefier look all around. They are also nearly 40 pounds lighter over the 18" Porsche wheels. I think its the best looking wheel made by Porsche and the only other wheels I considered was the BBS RS-GT which was similarly 20-21 pounds but I think these Carrera 5 spokes show off the drilled rotors and red calipers much better.

how much more head/leg room did you gain through the installation of these seats?

I'm 6'7" and the only way i'd get a boxster is if this, or a similar, swap would free up some much needed leg room.

Also, you mentioned your smaller in the waist. how small are you? I'm a 36 and have had a difficult time finding shells that fit comfortably.

I'm about a foot shorter than you. The cusions are velcroed to the seat so presumably you could remove them and almost be on the floor board. Someone posted that its about 1/2" lower than the stock seat in its lowest position. I'm a 31 waist. I think given your size it would be a hassle to get in and out of on a daily basis. You have to lift yourself as if you were doing tricep dips and pull one leg out and push off the steering wheel. I can do it very quickly now but its tough with dressy shoes on. I have to keep a pair of sneakers in the trunk.
I autocrossed this on Sunday without Harness belts and I was in that seat good. At long last...

Awesome! I've got to find a pair of these to try and sit in. Did you by any chance weigh the stock seats or the GT3 seats to determine the weight difference? Another question: I'm having a hard time visualizing where you buckle the seat belt. I can't see it going through the inboard hole. It must be over the seat side. Is it hard to access and do you have any chafing/wear issues with the leather? Thanks!

Now, you KNOW those holes in the top of the seat are belt holes, don't you? They look empty without harnesses. You need at least 4 point belts to complete the look .
