Default What is this?

I found this cover in the boxster when I got it and after looking in all the tech-equipment books, the PET CD and everywhere else, I haven't found out what it is for.

It is about the size of the gap behind the rollbar but I'm not aware of any panel that fits in that gap. It has two velcro straps in the corners and a zip almost full length. No labels of any sort.

So is it a Porsche cover or has someone just left a cover of something else in the car.

Ideas anyone?

Does it look big enough to cover the "speedster humps"?

Crossed my mind, but the speedster deck is two part so I ruled that out.

Looks like a Euro spec piece possibly as storage bag or shelf aft of the seats when the tops up. It would keep things from going into dark holes, maybe.

I have the humps and that is not the storage bag that comes with the factory humps.

Could it be a storage cover for the wind stop?

The Boxster windstop cover is much smaller but I thought it might be a 993 windstop cover. Is there a prize for nailing this? Would be funny if it was actually Boxster paraphernalia and no one knew about it.

I think I have to agree with Stef at this stage....I was fooled !!!

It could be a windstop cover for some other car but I don't think it is a Porsche part now.

..if anyone knows what car it is from.....or how it came to be in my car.....but that probably getting too off topic.

Thanks anyway,

David

I sent a copy of this thread to Gary, a local 996 cab owner. He said it is not for the 996 windstop.

That is the cover for a 993 cab windstop. The two velcro strips are used to secure the windstop when it is stored in the front trunk (it fits diagonally).

So what's my prize?!?

You will also need to add 993 Cab to your list. After all you already have the windstop cover...
