Default 5mm factory wheel spacers

Any of you guys using these on your Boxster/S? I know the 550 edition has these. I want to use them on my 03 with 18" carrera wheels. Will the stock bolts be ok. How is the handling affected? Anyone use these spacers with RoW 030 suspension? Thanks

I used the 17S all around with the 18s, S not carrera. The handeling was much more stable, less twitches. I like the feel and the look is awsome.

Default ...yes and yes

You need longer lug bolts, they have a red collar. You can get the spacers from parts.

I thought the spacers on the 550 model were 10mm?

They are 5mm. Says so in the order guide and that is what they looked like when I saw them.

Somewhere they had said the wheels were set 10mm wider but that is done with 5mm spacers on both sides. (ie. 5mm X2 = 10mm)

What you are getting confused on is the boxster is 10MM lowered ROW, not US due to DOT regulations. Spacers are 5 mm.

On the wheel bolt issue. The longer ones with the red collar are what we call the GT3 wheel bolts.

Friend with a 2000 2.7 has 996 wheels and 7mm spacers with the original wheel bolts. 5mm is a very thin shim.

I counted the number of turns on my stock 1997 and it was 7 1/2. Someone said the rule of thumb was 9 turns. I do not get that with my car.
