986 Speedster Humps - how to tie together?
Hope you can help me with this. For my ‘97 986 I bought an original OEM set of Speedster-Humps … without the installation materials.
I found most of the stuff I need, but … unclear to me what is needed on the 6 thread-ends to tie both sides together.
Noticed that later versions do not have these thread-ends, but come with a slot to keep both humps together.
Left and right speedster humb … how to tie together?

Thank you! Unfortunately these are a different (later?) type. One hump in this video has an edge that holds the other hump.
My (older) version has these 6 thread-ends on the inside, but nothing on the edge.
I suspect these 6 thread-ends need something to hold the two humps together, but what?

My guess is you line both sides up, clamp them together and then drill holes to accommodate the right size screws that will be screwed in to hold the two pieces together.

Hi John, thanks for your suggestion. Porsche produced this with the thread-ends, which seems to me quite complicated to make. There must be a reason for this ??
Note that this has been installed in the past, without drilled holes ;-)

Thanks! I looked at this movie. He has the newer version of the (original Porsche) humps.
You can see in this picture the slot that brings both parts together.
My version does not have this slot. Instead, there are these 8 thread-ends (very complicated to manufacture) that need something I guess.
this is the newer version with the slot, to keep the left and right part together. I seem to have an older version without this slot. unclear how / what is needed

I’d recommend aluminum or plastic C Channel. Mark the spots where to drill slotted holes, slide the channel over and tighten with proper size nuts. My 1.5 cents.
