Remove the radio & take to a Porsche Dealer along with your Boxster & proof of ownership.

Why remove the radio? Just drive the car to the dealer and ask a Service Advisor to give you the code for it.

The battery was disconnected in my car at the dealership when they were doing some repairs to it and they neglected to recode the battery before releasing the car to me. Noticed immediately because I always turn on the radio when I drive.

Told the Service Advisor who just pushed a couple of buttons on the radio (I assume to get the SN or other ID#), went to his computer and came back w/the code in a couple of mins.

So, since the radio has to be powered on to get the SN or ID#, I don't think it would be possible to get the radio code unless it is connected to the car or unless the shop can power it up in another way.

Agreed on removing the radio....
I have seen posts here where as I have done by providing the model # and serial# for the Becker 220 are provided and someone has access and provides the 4 digit code.
that’s what I was hoping for .
Also will call my local dealer and email my ownership and related radio info if no quick solution.
thanks again for assistance

Varys with the year of the car & radio, my 2000 I had to remove radio, when i replaced it with the superior 2001 version had to take it & code card to dealer. This was in 2003, may have changed since then. They had to see serial number On the back of the radio.

This belies my recent experience but if that works, go for it but, personally, if the radio is already installed, I wouldn't want to waste my time taking it out if the dealer can give me the code w/o doing that.

Radios change over the years, I was the Porsche press fleet account rep in So.CA from 2000-2003 & the local dealer service advisors knew me very well. They told me to bring them my 2000 radio & they would get my code for free.
