718 Tail Lights on my 986(Best visual upgrade I've done)
Hey everyone! I found these brand new tail lights a few weeks ago that were just released for the 986. It is an exact replica of the 718 boxster/cayman tail lights but inside of the 986 tail light housing. I fell in love the second I saw them. Put them on my car and I am absolutely amazed. Took a good 15 years off my 99 Boxster lol. I took some pics and video for you guys. I'm planning to upgrade the headlights next as well as maybe put on a spoiler or replace the stock spoiler with a small ducktail.

Thanks! It sure does. From the back it looks brand new!
Your's look great! I just like to keep it as porsche as possible while adding a little of my own flavor here and there so that was my big determining factor with the 718 lights.

I got these for my Spec Boxster. I like them!
I also did a cosmetic job and popped in those tail lights. They aren’t explicitly allowed, but since brighter = safer and they increase weight a bit I don’t expect any objections to running them. For now I’ll keep the OE tails to cover my bases.
Here are some photos showing it. The weight is in kg, so factory is 1.0 kg per side and these are 1.62 kg per side. Total weight gain of 1.24 kg = 2.7 lbs.
Personally I like them quite a bit, feels like a facelift for the old Boxster!

And who knows, you might end up like the early 911 owners who installed impact bumpers on their cars to make them look newer.

That's about how I feel. These are cool, but look a little out of place, especially with the stock headlights. And the only aftermarket 986 headlight assemblies I've seen so far look awful.
