Kinda sad...
Paul,
I am CC06. You can search for my car by name and then look at what mods I'm claiming. This is a good "keep 'em honest' check. I took 40 points for an induction system mod because of my airbox cover.
Do me a favor and go to the GGR region link in a previous post and do the same thing. Would be interesting to compare.
Re: DE and AX. It's possible there are ego's involved with the DE types regarding AX. Not unusual for them to get their heads handed to them by a Miata, or they never really learn the course and DNF. I'm not knocking DE. Different disciplines. Bill Crumley feels the same way regarding AX before DE. Better to spin for the first time at 40 vs 120.
Don't forget to register on club registration. Makes it easier. I'll have your shoes.
Cheers.

It looks like both of these points systems tend to punish newer cars with higher base points. Just looking through their points system, you could take a 964 RS America, put Hoosier A6's on it, and have fewer points than a 2007 987 Boxster S on regular street tires. That doesn't seem like a fair match-up though.
The base points start with a straight power to weight ratio (I think). We'd have to look at that...and I don't have the brain space tonight.
I believe the zone 8 rule book, or the point web site, has the figures for those base points.
My 32 year old, rear engined, normally aspirated, ancient transmission and engine management car, competes well on sticky tires against your Boxster on streets. If I recall. With you on stickies? Not so much unless you have a cruddy day and I'm completely out of my mind. See ya Sunday.
Cheers

Fortunate in New England... we have a great facility (old military airport) and a variety of clubs to run with. Have just as much fun running with PCA rules, PAX'd events and very open class structure (street tire/race tire/novice... any car/any mods). Interestingly, when I look at my overall standings, I wind up in the same general spot regardless of club.
Adds a lot of credence to "its the driver, not the car".
