Here's my best run from this past weekend, a 48.7xx. Chicago Region PCA held at the Tire Rack's test facility in South Bend, IN.

I had the 4th fastest time of the day, 2nd fastest if you exclude the two cars running A6's (I was on Yokohama AD-08's).


Fun course, though I designed it myself so I guess I'm a little biased. But it got good feedback from everybody. I really like running events here, the pavement is great and the course layout is pretty versatile. Just stinks it's such a haul for most folks in the Chicago region!

We're back at ACU4!! Just finished up the Virginia Autocross Championship today; was wet all day but oh man the difference a great site makes


Won my class (of 24 people) which feels pretty great, too. I really closed the gap on some of the national champion drivers I've been trying to benchmark myself against since I was but a wee novice, too. Friend of mine got a good shot of me:

Did you also toot the wrong way through the infield slalom at about the 0:36 mark?

Hehe, nope. We were allowed to go either right or left around the first single cone. Almost everyone went the way that I did. I tried it the other way and definitely went slower. There were two slaloms where we had a choice of starting right or left.

It was fun course. Going to and from the banking to the infield was challenging. I had to raise the front end a couple inches to keep from scraping the tow hooks.

Next time, skip the Taco Bell. Helps when I have that problem.

The 2nd autocross I ever did was at a similar track (Langley, VA) and boy is that wall intimidating! Was unfortunately the last autocross held there; I'd love to go back now that I'm a better driver. Some of my friends do circle-track type events there, but I'm too afraid I'd stuff my car into the wall for that.

You can tell by the high pitch that I was kinda tense. The wall is always on your mind. My son managed to spin my car and end up pointed at the wall. Whew!
