Well it's been two weekends without an autocross for me and I am beginning to dread the thought of several more months without an event. I guess I am hooked.

Do what I did and buy a simulator to entertain you until next season.

You guys need to move to California, where we only have 5 more events this year
until the next season starts with an event on January 1.

It depends on how much you like autocross. Without attending two events in a day,
and some do that) there will have been over 80 autocross events you could have
attended in 2010, within about an hour's drive of San Francisco. Of course it's
winter here now, so bring a light jacket just in case...

Tempting, but its 6 hours according to Googlemaps not 5. And then there's the problem of potential snow (not where you are but where I am.)

6 hours? Hardly. You're in a Porsche! It usually takes me about 5:30 to get from my home here to my parents' house about 30 minutes northwest of Harrisburg, and that's assuming stopping for gas/fast food and losing 15 minutes in traffic in DC. It's 5 hours if you drive straight through and don't hit any traffic in DC.

You don't have to preregister; just make sure you're on the access list. If they call for snow, you can stay home.

Also, to potentially sweeten the pot... one of the local drift clubs has rented out Blackwater's road course just over the border in Moyock North Carolina for a combination drift/track day. $100, all you can drive. (all the ricers blow their engines/cord their tires in the first hour or so, so if you wait until the afternoon, the track is just WIDE open!) So, drive down friday evening, driftwater saturday, autocross sunday, drive back sunday afternoon. Racing bug cured for at LEAST a week!

VMSC has a race this Sunday at VMP, just south of Richmond. Forecast is 65 & sunny- you could cruise right down 95 with the top down!

Attending the Florida state autox championship tomorrow. It's suppose to be beautiful in the mid 70's. It's going to be fun.
