Default Orange Coast region autocross

Went to my first PCA autocross event on father's day over at former El Toro marine base, CA. Snapped a lot of photos of some nice cars. The event was very well organized.

No I didn't run in the event. Was there as pure spectator.

I found out the event wasn't restricted to Porsche cars only. Saw a Lotus, BMW, Mazda, etc.

PCA-OCR had a good turnout for this Father's Day event. Lots of fathers and sons participated and family members came out to enjoy the day. The area where they have these events, the old El Toro Marine Base, is right in the middle of Orange County with easy freeway access, which works out very well for a one day event. The Orange Coast region has a great crew of volunteers who make these driving events happen, as well as a good number of enthusiasts , young and old, vintage cars to new cars, 914 to GT2's, that show up for these events.

Does anybody have insight on how a non-Porsche owner might gain entrance to the August 30 PCA event at El Toro?

No it wasn't. A 914 has TTOD. Go figure. Not always about the most expensive or biggest budget, driving skills beat them all...

TTOD was a 2004 GT3 on Aug 9th El Toro.....not a 914. The Scuderia was ttod the previous event.

During the presentation of trophies at the end of the Auto X, I could have sworn that it was "Evan Fullerton in a 1973 914" that had the best time. The results posted differ from my recollection. Sorry guys.

You are both right. Gary was fastest RAW time in his fairly stock GT3 (amazing!) and Evan was the fastest INDEXED time. Indexed times are adjusted to theoretically equalize the classes for comparison. I don't have the results, but it is possible that Gary would have had the fastest Indexed time as well if he was running a PCA class. Instead, he was running "X" class which has an impossible index (to avoid upsetting the current points race - a true gentleman).

See you all Sunday!
