Seriously, maybe we should start a petition asking for the inclusion of every Porsche 924-944 in Street Touring starting next year !

We would need the participation of every auto-x driver running these cars on Rennlist and every other we know, then present that to SCCA. MAYBE IT WOULD WORK !

It's rather flattering that the SCCA does not want Porsches running with comparable models.

I'd like to find out who got pissed off and beaten by a Porsche in an AX?

"Damn it, I'll never race against another Porsche again!"

In June I'm coming to the states to run in the Devens SCCA National Tour and I'll do everything I know to put those MR2's and Miata's on their knees in E/S !

Yup, you were right. It's always good to double check with the officials, though.

Default What class is my 69?

So I thought I'd see how most of you would place my car in a class.

I have a 69 911 with a 3.0 SC transplanted in it. PMOs rather than CIS. Electromotive distributorless ignition. 15 inch wheels with 50 series tires (23.1" diameter) 21/27 torsion bars, Bilstein HDs, stock front sway bar, no bar in the rear.

I think you should be in BSP in SCCA classification (B-Street Prepared). You are allowed to interchange specs within same models of different years so that would allow your engine swap with a more recent 911. It has to be 3.2 liter max though and if your 3.0 liter is modified then you may have to move up to higher classes ! Your other mods are permitted in BSP. Hope that helps.

I was thinking about this and there would be NO way in hell they would let us in to STS . The Index of ES is .817 and the index of STS is .816 . A properly "stock prepared" 944 ( Ala M030 and real R rubber ) is a top finisher in ES , even with the damned MR2 s . If I was to compare my results to the STS crowd , in stock trim i would always finish top three ....... Now mind you we have a huge following here in my region with usually around 10 to 20 entrants in ES and 15 to 25 in STS . So by the time we were to get the mods of STS , we would walk the rest of the STS group even know its a street tire class . Maybe ST2 or STX for us limited slip folks .
