997.2 Turbo manual future values

Value is what someone is willing to pay. I have seen some people pay crazy money for cars that I had no interest but they did. It can be a family memory etc. A 997.2 PDK will hold more value to my son 20 years from now becuse that is the car we had togather. There is NO WAY to speculate what the correct out turn will be. If there was just pick 6 winning lottery nubers and Buy what is important to You. .1, .2, Manual, Tiptronic, PDK who cares enjoy the hell out of what you have and build the memories that build the value.

And by that, the .2 is notably faster and much better sorted chassis and suspension wise. I think Stout summed it up here nicely in post #5 (maybe not a "Skip" but a good summation of why over the .1 anyhow).

We've all seen some pretty mind blowing numbers from Sambo and Emre on the .2 platform. Unless we're talking about fully "built" motors, I think a .2 with just an exhaust and a good tune is pretty tough to beat...

The point of this thread is values of the .2, which generally means keeping them stock or tastefully close to stock. Sure you can mod a Turbo to the hilt with 1500 hp or whatever, but market value will tank.

I do agree that stock, the 997.2 suspension is slightly better but adding the DSC box has made that null for me. Was the PASM software different in the 997.2?

After I sold my first .1 TT, I test drove a .2 TT MT. The suspension and tranny are similar to my 997 GTS manual, of course its faster.
But a .1 TT is so different, you can immediately sense it on first start.

I 100% agree with you about immediately sensing it on first start as per my post above. I was fortunate to have friends with both and got to drive them pretty much back to back.

After having owned 5 997 TT, a .1 TT is a different car than a .2 TT. Both has good characters. I am sure for now a .2 TT will command good payoffs but a .1 is such a good buy.
Even car journalist have listed a natural competitor for the .2 TT as the 997 GTS and and 997 TTS for collectibity. All in the 9A1 family.
So for porsche guys like all of us here, you just have to pick whether you want the last Mezger TT or the last Manual Turbo.

Its the link that clearly connects us watercooled guys to the aircooled guys. Its the engine used in both watercooled and aircooled cars.
The mezger.
Some people value it, some wont.
Mezger Blah Blah, yes, thats me.

Youre kidding right?
I guess this somewhat differentiates a .1 owner and a .2 owner.
