Default is it possible my sport mode is NOT engaging?

2007 997 tt. To me, it feels like even when i hit the sport mode button, there is no change. Normally I found that when i hit sport i would 'feel' it. now, when i hit the button, even though it 'says' it's engaged I don't feel any difference. Anyone have this experience?

How long do you have the pedal mashed to the floor. The "feeling" effects are usually in 4th, 5th and 6th gear at sustained WOT..

Knock retard, due to worn plugs will negate the Sport Mode. Hard knocking with timing retard reduces the SPORT MODE.

I remember it coming on in any gear. I really recall it making the pull out of 1 and 2 much stronger. My feeling is it stopped working, but i'm not sure it's possible. Car has 35k miles.

35K...Have plugs been changed? As Kevin indicates, that could have an effect??

Have you had a look at your boost in WOT?

You should know instantly by throttle response. You wont have to get into the pedal much. It drastically changes how much pedal you need. If you feel no differences in your pedal then something is wrong.

That's the truth. I hear (if I'm at idle) a change in engine note and notice an immediate throttle response change.

This may sound silly but you may want to try disconnecting your negative battery terminal for 10 minutes. Then reconnect it.. I have had many electronic gremlins cured by this process. At idle do you hear the engine note change when you engage the Sport button?
