Default Painted OEM 997.1 Wheels

Have many of you painted your OEM wheels? I have a second set that need to have a few minor curb nicks resurfaced, and the clear is peeling in a couple of spots. Considering stripping them and painting a solid colour, perhaps a darker silver, or bronze metallic. Be keen to see examples from others that have travelled down this path.

My car came to me with the wheels painted satin black,.. and with a red pinstripe.

I don;t like black wheels,.. so I sold them and acquired a set of stock ones.

Here's what they looked like though. Look pretty good when the car was standing still,.. in the bright sunshine,.. when freshly washed....... But if it's overcast or dark out, or the car is moving,.. it looks like the car has 4 spares on it. YUK !

Thanks for the photos. Confirms for me that black wheels are not the right answer!

I've been curious about the different wheel finish options from the factory. My .1 has grey/titanium with polished spokes. Other cars have different finishes. Yet I don't see anything on the option list about wheels. Are mine the way they came and everyone else's are customized?

MK_TT, you had these painted if I remember correctly. If not, what did you do?

I like that the solid color actually make the rim appear larger.

Sorry for the late response, yes its a titanium / satin graphite color

PS, Kyle is one of my best friends. We have been talking about a certain car for a month now. I'm very excited to see it in person!

I may keep my stock wheels and have them done like that.. It looks amazing. Be nice to have two sets to go back and forth with..

Are the wheels painted just one color?

MK - didn't you post a DIY about your wheels sometime shortly after you did them? Also - sent you a PM.
