Thanks guys,

Yes they are painted just one color. I tested out a product called dupli color custom wrap in the color matte graphite (A friend that works at dupli color sent me a whole bunch of products to try out), its a removable coating, similar to plasti dip but has a much smoother finish and formulated for automotive purposes.

They have held up great for more then a year, but eventually I will have a spare set of OEM wheels powdercoated, because I would like permanent not removable.

Have read that powder coating forged wheels can reduce their strength - any truth to that?

Those wheels look fantastic.

powder coating does not reduce "strength", but getting the wheels too hot during the process can certainly reduce the alloy's "strength".

I'm not a metallurgist nor a materials scientist, but I believe Al alloys are heat treated to induce favorable characteristics including "strength".
getting them too hot again reduces the favorable characteristics and makes them "soft".

sorry, don't know how hot it too hot.

i recently saw these at a dealer.
whole lotta yellow going on, but strangely appealing

That's actually an OEM option. Mine were white that way.

Here's what my wheels look like. Is this standard, factory option or something the PO did?

Great looking cars. Here a shot of mine. The rims were done by the previous owner.

They look great! Problem is stock wheels are still too heavy. Nice ride height by the way...what springs?

Centre cap alignment is very important. And remember that the pin on your anorak must always be pointing towards Stuttgart.
