Default Which muffler / exhaust is this?

Hi all,

Currently making custom 3 inch short pipes for my Gen 2 Turbo.

From looking at pictures I don't think my old muffler is stock, had standard cats but this exhaust:

Any ideas what it is? It doesn't join up like the X pipes I've seen for sale.

This is my new setup, should release a few ponies with a bit of help from Cobb

Sharkwerks exhaust.

Doing pipes your way will make the car sound like two, inline 3 cylinder engines.

Good luck!

Ah thanks bud, will put it up for sale soon.

The new setup is no different to what I have now, only much shorter pipes and no cats. The current system doesn't connect the banks at any point and sounds pretty good. More interested in performance but aware it's going to be loud. If you look at the old muffler it doesn't connect each side like an X pipe, just crosses over etc but is still separated like the new setup

X-pipe looks like Sharkwerks. Simple but effective.

Believe it or not (and I didn't at first) the crossed, non connected pipes create resonance. When they go straight out they sound quite bad. Good luck, nonetheless.

Your new system sounds/looks great. I think Quad was commenting on your first picture in the first post.
