John,
When replacing the exhaust on a 997.1 TT with a 3" catless, x pipe system, duel tip; will you notice any loss of torque due to less back-pressure? If so what would you recommend to get back the torque you lost?

Jeff, no, you will not notice any loss of torque running catless.

The Speedtech 2.5 quiet and the comparable Kline system are two that I've been considering, as I'd like the performance and some sound improvement without any drone or obnoxious cold start/idle/cruising volume. Any impressions you have on the comparison between the two would be helpful!

Both sound good, the Kline sounds 'cleaner' and more Porsche like, IMO. I have the fvd modified oem exhaust currently as I wanted something even quieter.

Nate,

We have two versions of our 2.5 quiet. The original full muffler with internal X design and a newer 2.5 X-Pipe with one set of in-line mufflers on the upper section (which I prefer). Both sound very good and perform very well, however, I would give the nod to our newer, improved design for best sound.

Our newer Gen 2 version can be seen here:

PM or email me if you wish to discuss.

John,
Or anyone else for that matter,

997.1 turbo, Started working on removing the factory exhaust to replace with the X-pipe you posted a picture of above.

Just got the studs out of the turbos (not a fun job getting the top ones). All but 1 of the studs came right out with the nut still attached.

Im thinking it may be best to replace the studs, nuts, washers, and gaskets. Im having trouble finding the part numbers so I can order from Pelican.

Anyone offer assistance with the part numbers for the studs, washers, nuts, and gaskets would be appreciated.

Part #'s for the studs are on the page detailing the Turbo.

Edit: Rennlist keeps messing with the order of the images. Use the Illustration reference to validate the part list page.

Thanks,
Now for maybe some stupid questions, but dont want to spend $125 on the wrong parts.

Studs say M8x22 in the description. Mine measure 34mm??

Nuts and washers are separate on the parts diagram, but they are connected to one another. Is this just a case of the nut having a locking feature that presses into the washer?

That is somewhat normal and they can be re-used. From my experience, just screw them back in, they do not need to be replaced unless they are damaged.

Thanks John,
What about the gaskets? Should I bother?

I would not bother, they are re-usable many, many times and they are very expensive for a what they are....
