When you hear the laser alert go off, and the LEO looks at his gun to check if he forgot to turn it on, you know it's working.
My custom display install is identical to this, and there is not one other detector giblet you could see from looking into the car.

So versus the V1, 9500ci is
* less range but less or no false alerts; I had so many falses with a friends V1 on a 2500 mile road trip that I quit listening to it
* no arrows, but GPS data bases of speed traps, cameras etc updated weekly
* not even a suction cup trace on the windshield, much less a dangling wire
* more money, but the laser alert has paid for it many times over in 50K miles.

^^^ wow nice unit we got
I should go home and read the manual.
Mine looks exactly the same way only mine is mounted between sterring wheel and the dash.
Whats cool about it is that it also tells u if signal comes from the back or front

My 09 came with a K40 Calibre detector installed. It has front and rear sensors plus laser (which I've been told isn't that good on my unit). I like that it runs off a small fob so it's completely invisible in the cockpit. Two small blue lights on either side of the instrument binnacle designate a front or rear signal, and it can be muted so you rely on just the lights. Does anyone have any persecutive on this units overall performance under real world conditions? Thanks for any insights. Bryan
Well of course I needed a detector for my 930, and I did not want to do a concealed install, so a bought a V1 just for that car. It works great like they always do, great range, but tons of false alarms.

Anyone have a completely stealth install on one of these? I live in VA... Going over 80mph here is reckless driving even if you're on a 70mph highway. My town is completely cop infested. VA is no fun...

Yea it's bad... and yet somehow VW has their American headquarters here. Carmax has their headquarters in Richmond too. Would expect the place to at least be marginally driver friendly. Heck one of the guys that started Carmax has a Carrera GT, my younger brother did some work at his house once down in Richmond
... anyways sorry for getting off topic ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
