What's the most accure/BEST radar detector in the market?
Hey fellas!
Quick question! What's the best radar detector in the market in this days? I don't care about "the best product for the money" I'm looking for the best radar detector.

I've owned a V1 since 2002 and send it to Valentine for periodic updates to keep the technology up to date. No tickets in nearly 12 years. (Knock on wood) To me, that's all that matters.

Passport Max, I've had it for about 3 months and have never seen a better non - integrated system. Awesome accuracy, features, and the ability to link with your phone via blue tooth to get real time updates from other units on the road.

No it doesn't. Just laser detection.
But I will recommend the V1 for radar detection. I've had mine for 9 years and I only got one ticket... From a laser gun. The V1 lit up and beeped just to tell me "you're screwed". It has warned me of a laser trap before by picking up stray laser beams from cars ahead, but when I got my ticket I was the only one on the road.
For radar the V1 is second to none.
Any suggestions from people for a laser shifter to supplement the V1?

Leo, probably need to provide where you live in the country/world as it changes what device you should get.
For example, in California:
Local police may still use K band but you really shouldn't be speeding locally On the highway, CHP usually drives with Ka band radar on so radar gives you some warning that they are around, but when CHP is on the side of the road looking for speeders, they almost always use laser.
From radardetectorforum.org:
Best windshield mounted radar detectors
V1 - all around good radar range and accuracy; bluetooth support for mobile phone/app connection with social networked protection; no GPS as a philosophy
Passport Max - newer detector on the market and has some Ka band glitching with v1.6 but probably will be fixed soon; bluetooth support for mobile phone/app connection with social networked protection; uses GPS as a philosophy
Passport Redline - undisputed range king; but no GPS or bluetooth support
Best built-in radar detectors
Beltronics STIR-plus - basically same company as Passport/Escort but re-badged; but this unit has more features than the Escort 9500ci and is currently king for built in radar protection
Best laser jammers
Laser Interceptor - has been one of the best for a while
Blinder - has been one of the best for a while
Goodluck! I run V1 and my car came with Laser Interceptor (which I leave off of course!)

I use V1's in my other cars; hardwired in.....I forget the kind I have for my TT.....a passport I think.....
I like the V1's better, although I did actually get a ticket in my cls a couple of weeks ago that has V1......didn't even get a warning.......must have been a laser or something else?

I have numerous detectors and all have some downfalls. I would say overall best is the redline from Escort. Very close in range to the V1, less false alarms and better notification of alarms. Love Escort display and distinct sound between different threats. I also have a V1. The best radar for range hands down. I have drove with both my 9500ix and V1 on a 2400 mile road trip side by side. There were times when the V1 would notify me of radar about 30 seconds before the 9500ix would even make a sound. This is at highway speed with a Leo coming head on. The biggest downfall of the V1 is too many false alarms and is hard to distinguish the types of threat at night. Can't tell which band is being detected. I had owned a radar detectors since the early 80's and the only time I had ever driven through a radar trap without slowing down was with the V1. Why you may wonder? It false alarms so often that the mind starts to ignore it. Much like to person who calls wolf too many times.
