Stopped by my local dealer today to get some parts and they had a 997.2 Turbo S. Couldn't get over how good the spec looked. Silver (I think GT Silver), with PCCBs and black wheels with the silver lip (the factory config) is just perfection. Not the best pics as I was holding parts with one hand and taking photos with the other. But totally stopped me in my tracks as I was pulling in.
Tomorrow will mark 2 years it was dropped at the shop for an exhaust replacement (studs on the turbos broke). A few more parts and supply chain issues followed. Finally tuning on the dyno and should be coming home.

A two year await in the shop? You must are a patient man, enjoy getting here back.....
Engine was pulled and waiting on Porsche for OEM oil lines for the turbos was over 9 months. The cores on my turbos were shot and no one had any on the shelf to rebuild so it was about a year for new turbo’s etc, couldn’t get a bracket for the GT2 slave cylinder conversion. The list of issues goes on and on. Went in in June 2020, motor was pulled in August 2020. Then it was a waiting game for parts with supply chain issues etc. Finally all the parts were in in the end of March 2022 but all the lifts in the shop were booked for seasonal tires and maintenance until mid May.
Hopefully with all the work done it will be worth the wait
That's insane, but yes it'll be worth the wait. I bought my 997.2 last Thanksgiving and I hit a slew of delays. Title took forever to get then my state lost the license plates I ordered, so I couldn't even legally drive it. Then I decided to do a performance build on my lift, threaded a exhaust manifold hole in the engine block. From there, sat on it for a while until I decided to re-thread to SAE bolt. Once that worked, it took another month to get everything back on, etc. Last night I got her from a local performance shop after they put on springs, front sway bar, and all new radiators and hoses. She's driving great; took her to cars and coffee this morning. Such fun. Long story, but the point is it's worth the wait for that smile you'll get!

I had mine in pretty well stock form for about 7 years before it went in now it has
- Tarret GT2 sway bars
- Tarret adjustable end links
- Tarret rear toe arms
- GT3 adjustable control arms
- H&R lowering springs
- EVOMs stage 3 clutch kit and light weight flywheel
- EVOMs GT2 clutch master and slave conversion
- Tarret Cup Car Shift Cables
- RSS engine Mounts
- EVOMs light weight pully
- CSF radiators
- DO88 boost pipes
- PURE 850 68mm VTG turbos
- AWE intercoolers and hoses
- secondary Air Injection Delete
- Unobtanium 3” catless turbo back exhaust
- EVOMs double platinum plugs and coil packs
- O2 and EGT sensors
- every fluid serviced
- Pinned coolant lines
- Water Pump
- Thermostat
- Eurocharged software with custom tune
- 4” eRam electric spoiler actuators
- bunch of misc seals, gaskets, boots, fittings, coolant and oil lines etc.
They made a conservative 700 wheel horsepower at low boost with conservative timing and fuel (waiting to see dyno chart) on 93 octane.
Just need some minor adjustments to the dyno tune, street tune for drive ability and adjust shifter for a notchy second gear shift.

We went and picked up a 997 Turbo from another shop after it sat outside for a year. After getting paid up front, the only thing they did was joyride it and get it dirty.
Within two days we had the engine out for coolant pipe pinning and a slew of upgrades from FVD taking it to 675hp. Can't wait for the owner to enjoy it again!

Fortunately in my instance the engine was out pretty quick when we thought we had all the parts then sat in the shop show room as an ornament for 2 year kept pristine… no joy rides
That's your big boy right there.... I cheated and removed the bracket for the pump from the column as I wanted a wider walk-thru. I mounted the pump on the building column, next to the lift. I had to run some new hydraulic hoses, no biggie. I made sure to add a pressure gauge too. You don't know whats going on if you don't know the pressure. It's been installed a week and I have yet to put a car on it... can't wait to do my P-car (overdue) service.
