just recently joined the club last month. i've wanted a 911 pretty much my whole life. 2007 turbo, 6MT, 43k miles - my first porsche. came with a fabspeed maxflo exhaust! so far it's been a month and i've resisted the urge to tune it, we'll see how long that lasts. looking forward to lurking and learning more here.

Niiice! So you passed on or missed out on the 996, and landed this beauty. Congrats! Very happy for you. And (as I just posted in another thread), if the exhaust is already done, the Stage 2 tune is such an easy and impactful move, so I reckon it'll happen. Three pedals, throaty growl, head snapped back, broad grin.

thanks! yes, i passed on 996 TT i looked at from a member here. 997 TT was at the heart wanted, 996 TT was what the head/wallet said made more sense. you can see how that turned out

re: tune, i would like to tune the car, i mean who doesn't want more power but i am a bit reluctant since from what i am reading your odds are 50/50 you'll need a new clutch to handle the added torque. i really enjoy the stock clutch, it is buttery smooth with great engagement per my tastes. i know there are options (GT2 / Sachs 2.5) but i am skeptical how close to stock those feel as well as a tune + clutch + install is a going to be a very spendy upgrade. i'm just going to enjoy the car as is for now, it's plenty of fun in current form.

Others can chime in as I am still a newbie, but my understanding is that you can do a Stage 2 tune to take advantage of the higher flow exhaust without needing to upgrade the clutch. That's what I have done and don't plan to do the clutch.

thanks john! actually conversing with you sales team about an x-pipe kit as i'd like a bit more aggressive sound. i wish there were some more recent videos though, i'm not finding any that aren't 10+ years old. if you know of any 997.1 turbo clips with the x-pipe 2 or 4 resonator setup please let me know.

probably a discussion for another thread but if you poke around you'll see mixed results. same model, same tune - some slip immediately, some don't. some start slipping a few thousand miles later, some don't. some cars start to slip with the stock tune after decent miles. luck of the draw is my take.

Do you happen to know if they share the sizing and offset, and if they do what it is?
