need to ask you folks in the US, what are those 2 "bulging / protruding" blocks at either end of your rear licence plate? What purpose does it serve? Cars in Asia and Europe do not have this I believe.
Is it a part which can be ordered? I am thinking that it may help "save" the rear bumper from "kissing" a wall....

Haha, it's funny you would want to put those bumperettes on. I'm one of the guys here in the US that would like to get them taken off as it looks strange unfortunately I'm told there's lots of holes behind them where it bolts into the bumper so it would be meaningless to take it off unless you're willing to get work done to patch up the holes.

Sometimes we call them the "5 mph" bumpers. They also have structure behind them to absorb energy in the case of a crash.
Some people remove them over here...so maybe you can out a WTB ad in the classified and get some?

Only1Buck -- the Lightning is an '04 (last year manufactured) and at 13mpg around town on premium, only gets about 5k mi/year, ha ha. I don't have more pics loaded on my current laptop but several are on our sister site: lightningrodder.com under the True Forged tab of the participating vendor section. The wheels are custom 3-piece True Forged Chicanes, made in USA. I installed an aftermarket Hotchkis suspension (they primarily market toward muscle cars but of interest to us P-car owners, the family raced 962s back in the day.) For a 5000lb truck it handles pretty well, and has room in the bed for trips to Home Depot….everybody needs one, eh.
